Penngrove is a small, unincorporated community in Sonoma County, between Petaluma and nestled in the foothills of Sonoma Mountain. Located in the remnants of a historic grove called Penn's Grove, it was previously a north bay freight rail station on the Northwestern Pacific Railroad as well as a center for egg and chicken farming, much like its close neighbor. As of 10/2007, Penngrove's population was 3,845 people. Since 2000, it has had a population growth of -3.38 percent. And the median home cost is $901,300. with 66.09% of the population owning their home.
